First, there she is: the dream-bag. It comes from a city parallel to everyday Milan: the “Milan of fashion”. And this is what everyone, foreigners in the first place, refers to when talking about that city. As if people in Milan did nothing but going from a fashion show to an aperitif. What’s the point in trying to explain that you only see the catwalks on television? And that you know it is fashion week only because there is no taxi to be found in the city and you get stuck in traffic even on a tram or a scooter. It doesn’t matter: you live in Milan and owning that bag is part of an agreement with your city. That’s why you bought one, anticipating the moment you’d show it off.
